Delivering asphalt works in remote regions of the Pilbara presents unique logistical challenges, particularly when material production facilities are located significant distances from the project site. For the Marble Bar Road McPhee Section 3 intersection works, asphalt had to be transported more than 190 kilometres from the nearest production laydown area while maintaining temperature and workability requirements. The project also required the road to be reopened to traffic at the end of every shift, creating tight construction windows and demanding precise coordination between production, haulage and paving crews to ensure works were completed safely and efficiently each day.
- Transporting asphalt more than 190km to a remote project location
- Maintaining asphalt temperature and workability during haulage
- Reopening the road to live traffic at the end of each shift
- Coordinating production, haulage and paving activities within tight work windows
- Delivering works in challenging Pilbara environmental conditions
