Nameless Valley Road Reseal Program

Two dump trucks and a road roller paving asphalt on a remote highway near dry hills and railway tracks.

PROJECT CHALLENGE

The Nameless Valley Road reseal programme required the delivery of a large-scale spray sealing package within a constrained timeframe while maintaining compliance with Main Roads WA requirements. Located near Tom Price in the Pilbara, the project involved the application of 89,000m² of 14mm reseal and the reinstatement of all line marking. Achieving the required programme demanded sustained daily production rates, careful coordination between sealing and traffic management activities, and reliable supply of aggregate and bitumen materials. Detailed planning, proactive risk management and efficient mobilisation of personnel and equipment were critical to maintaining productivity and avoiding delays.

  • Delivering 89,000m² of reseal works within a tight programme window
  • Maintaining production targets of 10,000m² per day
  • Coordinating traffic management and sealing activities on an active regional road
  • Managing material supply and logistics in a remote Pilbara environment
  • Ensuring compliance with Main Roads WA quality, safety and environmental requirements

PROJECT SOLUTION

Roadform successfully delivered the Nameless Valley Road reseal programme, completing spray seal surfacing and line marking works safely, efficiently and to specification. The scope included the application of C320 bitumen binder and 14mm aggregate across 89,000m² of roadway, supported by comprehensive traffic management planning and implementation. Through efficient planning, experienced crews and high-quality equipment, average daily production exceeded programme requirements, achieving approximately 11,100m² per day. Strong collaboration with suppliers, integrated traffic management delivery and proactive contingency planning ensured uninterrupted progress throughout the project. The result was a durable pavement outcome delivered on programme, with zero lost-time injuries and full compliance with project requirements.

  • 89,000m² of 14mm reseal completed using C320 binder
  • Average production rates exceeded targets at approximately 11,100m² per day
  • All line marking reinstated following surfacing works
  • Project delivered safely with zero lost-time injuries
  • Full compliance achieved with Main Roads WA quality, safety and environmental standards
