SHIRE OF ASHBURTON

Roadworks and Footpath Upgrades on Beadon Creek Road in Onslow

Two dump trucks and a road roller paving asphalt on a remote highway near dry hills and railway tracks.

PROJECT CHALLENGE

The Shire of Ashburton required a comprehensive upgrade to Beadon Creek Road to improve traffic capacity, pedestrian safety and connectivity. Serving as the primary access route to Onslow's main boat ramp through an active light industrial corridor, the project placed high demands on construction coordination and community communication throughout.
  • Active light industrial corridor with ongoing access requirements throughout construction
  • Primary access route to the town's main boat ramp, requiring careful traffic management
  • Scope spanning road widening, dual pathway construction, drainage and rock protection works.

PROJECT SOLUTION

The upgraded corridor improved traffic flow, pedestrian safety and access to key community infrastructure. All works were delivered safely, on time and without disruption to corridor users.
  • 900m road widening, including earthworks, pavement construction, surfacing and line marking
  • 1,640m² red asphalt footpath and 540m² concrete footpath, both including full earthworks
  • New kerbing, pedestrian ramps and culvert extensions with rock protection
