SHIRE OF ASHBURTON

Streetscape Upgrade and Carpark Construction in Tom Price

Two dump trucks and a road roller paving asphalt on a remote highway near dry hills and railway tracks.

PROJECT CHALLENGE

The Coolibah Street and Post Office carpark project was a high-profile investment for the Shire of Ashburton, situated in a busy section of Tom Price town centre. Careful construction sequencing and consistent stakeholder communication were essential to minimising disruption to surrounding businesses and pedestrians.
  • High-profile town centre location with a broad and active stakeholder group
  • Geotextile-reinforced spray seal specification beneath final asphalt surfacing, adding construction complexity
  • New kerbing, decorative footpaths and site furniture to be integrated within a busy and established streetscape

PROJECT SOLUTION

All works were delivered on time and without disruption, enhancing safety, accessibility and amenity within one of Tom Price's most heavily used public precincts.
  • 1,800m² of new sealed pavement, including earthworks, base course, asphalt surfacing and line marking
  • Geotextile-reinforced spray seal installed below the final asphalt layer for enhanced pavement performance
  • New kerbing, decorative footpaths and site furniture throughout the upgraded streetscape
